Wednesday, November 24, 2010 is NATIONAL OPT-OUT DAY!

Wednesday, November 24, 2010 is NATIONAL OPT-OUT DAY!

It's the day ordinary citizens stand up for their rights, stand up for liberty, and protest the federal government's desire to virtually strip us naked or submit to an "enhanced pat down" that touches people's breasts and genitals in an aggressive manner. You should never have to explain to your children, "Remember that no stranger can touch or see your private area, unless it's a government employee, then it's OK."

The goal of National Opt Out Day is to send a message to our lawmakers that we demand change. We have a right to privacy and buying a plane ticket should not mean that we're guilty until proven innocent. This day is needed because many people do not understand what they consent to when choosing to fly.

Britney Spears' demos were lost in the fire!

Britney Spears' demos were lost in the fire!

by James Foytlin on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 9:43pm

I have gotten word that music producer Rusko, who is currently contributing to Britney Spears' upcoming album, suffered a devastating loss yesterday when his car exploded in his driveway and it set fire to his house! His home, cars, and studio were all destroyed in literally an hour, and although he managed to escape with his hard drive, all of his Britney's demos were lost in the fire! No one was seriously injured, but imagine what it must be like to literally lose everything like this!

There’s no question your systems are going to fail at some point with a resulting loss of data . Maybe not as dramatic as this but , “it’s a 100 percent certainty.” The only question is when. Businesses that don’t adequately protect their data will inevitably suffer. Daily backup must be part of any computer system.

Give yourself peace of mind that your data is secure and you are in compliance with all relevant data retention requirements. I urge you to make your backup system a priority. I’ll be happy to advise you on any specific business needs and focus on the best data protection strategy for your business at the lowest cost.

Google Me : the Social Phenomenon

Google Me , the Movie

A documentary by Jim Killeen
Starring 7 guys named Jim Killeen

http://www.googlemethemovie.com/

"It all started when I Googled my name," said Killeen of his movie. And who in today's day and age hasn't engaged in just such an activity in a moment of idle "webbing." The difference here that the filmmaker actually followed up on his findings by not only contacting his namesakes but also traveling to whatever remote location called for to meet and interview the subjects of his search.

Famed Obama 'Hope' poster artist losing hope

Famed Obama 'Hope' poster artist losing hope

The artist whose poster of Barack Obama became a rallying image during the hope-and-change election of 2008 says he understands why so many people have lost faith.

In an exclusive interview with National Journal on Thursday, Shepard Fairey expressed his disappointment with the president -- a malaise that seems representative of many Democrats who had great expectations for Obama.

the Bridgehampton Polo Club

the Bridgehampton Polo Club

And yes I went to the Hamptons for a Polo Event. It's been a while but the Bridgehampton Polo Club for the Mercedes Benz Challenge seemed like a good spot to get reacquainted with the sport. I was accompanied by the Tri-States own ArtChick most of you know her as a club photographer extraordinaire and she is now one of the hottest wedding photographers money can buy.

For Artchick it was her first time in the Hamptons. She really seemed to enjoyed photographing the horses and the event from behind the scenes. She dug right in with her usual vigor and at one point we almost interjected our self into the match and were quite relieved not to get stomped on . Artchick held her ground and got some amazing shots in all the ensuing kaos.

We opted out of the VIP festivities and decided on the more traditional tail gate. I dawned my yellow summer afternoon cocktail jacket and personified the picture of Hamptons society circuit. The traditional Divot stomping at half-time with spectators wander all over was a hoot and gives you a good feeling of the vastness of the size of the field. It's fun and a great opportunity to meet people .

the Great Falls of Paterson

the Great Falls of Paterson

I visited the Great Falls ,it s actually very easy to get to , just head down Route 4 west till it turns into Broadway ,just keep going til you cant go any farther ,then make a right and you are there.

Lets retrace the steps Alexander Hamilton took in 1778, when he visited the breathtaking falls and was impressed by its huge potential for industry. As Secretary of Treasury, he selected the site of the nation's first planned industrial city, which he called a "national manufactory." In 1791, Hamilton helped found the Society for the Establishment of Useful Manufactures (S.U.M.), state-chartered private corporation to fulfill this vision. The town of Paterson was founded by the society and named after New Jersey Governor William Paterson in appreciation of his efforts to promote the society.

The falls became the nucleus for a burgeoning mill industry ie.. silk city, with construction of numerous canals known as raceways. In 1793, the falls was the site of the first water-powered cotton spinning mill in New Jersey. In 1812, it was the site of the state's first continuous roll paper mill. Other products whose construction used the falls as a power source include the Rogers Locomotive Works (1832), the gun that won the west the Colt revolver (1837),and the USS Holland (SS-1) (1898).

After the years of declin the area fell into disuse .In 1971, the Great Falls Preservation and Development Corporation were established to restore and redevelop the historic mill buildings and raceways. On June 6, 1976, President Ford designated the Falls and its surrounding area as a National Natural Landmark.
