Do you have a bad case of the winter blues?

Do you have a bad case of the winter blues? It seems when those cold winter days get shorter, colder and darker, many people are over whelmed by a sense of melancholy or depression . If so, you’re not alone and data suggests that Twenty percent of the people in the United States react to the change of seasons with a type of depression called Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD for short. Symptoms typically arise in the fall and winter months, but those who are not exposed to sunlight during the day may experience SAD all year long.

I have detailed some simple steps to take to alleviate some of the symptoms ,obviously if symptoms persist you should see a doctor.

So you want to buy the New York Mets ?

So you always wanted to own a Major League Baseball team , but you cant raise the scratch ? On Wednesday, three friends started an Internet bid to acquire the New York Mets and the team’s nearly 70 percent stake in SNY. BuyTheMets.com is seeking fans of all kind to sign up to buy shares at $999 each , but for now no money is changing hands and fans can sign up only to express their interest.

“We have a serious plan that should be taken very seriously,” according to Bill Heyn a Mets fan since the early 1980′s , who devised the Web site plan with James Preissler and John Calce, two of his partners at Tritaurian Capital, an investment bank. “The whole goal is to do this for the people of the city “of New York.

Kim Sozzi set to release new album

After releasing “Rated R,” the album’s first single, in December, Kim Sozzi is gearing up to release the second track, “Little Bird,” a cover of the Annie Lennox classic. Sozzi tols MTV in a recent interview ,”It’s totally different from my dance [music] and my previous singles,” Sozzi went on , “I wanted to do something a little more mainstream.”

Sozzi burst onto the scene back in 2001 with the epic Sound Factory NYC anthem “Feelin’ Me,” produced by Hex Hector and Jonathan Peters.Sozzi is an original Jersey Shore girl always having the knack for that true Jersey Shore vibe. Hugely popular in Jersey, Kim has transfer that popularity onto a nation stage. Her almost magical stage charisma can captivate even the most serious club goer. Her sets are an authentic mix of genuineness often so lacking in today’s music.

RIP Gina Sachi Cody

RIP Gina Sachi Cody

Artchick
I just learned that my friend died.  We weren’t very close but we got along great. We shared our passion for   nightlife photography.  She use to come out with me to lower east side’s Angel and Kings to practice shooting and learn from me.  From time to time she would call me for advice on camera’s to buy because she kept loosing her’s. She also lost her phone a number of times and I had difficulty getting ahold of her.  Today I thought to myself to reach out to her and see how’s she doing and suggest we go out to New York City and photograph today.  I didn’t know I was going to find out she OD’ed on October 31, 2010.   I didn’t know any of her friends or family so no one told me till I posted on her facebook page “hey we should catch up and hangout”.  I can’t believe her facebook page is still being posted on of people saying I miss you… and Happy Valentine’s day.  To me I thought she didn’t spend much time on their and she was very popular.  I had no clue  that facebook would continue after you die.  Either case now I learned something new and I’m very sad to know she is gone.
I miss my friend.  :(

I was surprised that the picture above that I took of her was use in her obituary .  I never thought I took of a friend would be used to remember her in death. This freaked me out.
