New York St Patrick's Day Parade
The 252nd year in a row, New York City is hosting the parade, which began at 11 a.m. at 44th Street and makes its way north up Fifth Avenue past St. Patrick Cathedral to the American Irish Historical Society at 83rd Street.
The Grand Marshal for the parade is Alfred E. Smith IV, CEO of AE Smith Associates and the great-grandson of New York Governor Al Smith. Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny is among among the marchers.
