Security will be increased at all major league stadiums this season, and the Yankees are encouraging fans to get to the Stadium early both on Monday and throughout the season.

Metal detectors will be located at all gates, and fans will be subject to screening and having their bags checked, the result of MLB working with the Department of Homeland Security. As has been the policy of recent years, all bags will be checked, and only MLB-compliant bags - 16 in. x 16 in. x 8 in. or smaller - will be admitted.

Because of the new measures, Yankee Stadium gates will open to ticket-holders 2¹/₂ hours before the scheduled start time of games.

On Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 you have the opportunity to see Easter bonnets to the New York City extreme as "paraders" wander along Fifth Avenue from 49th to 57th Streets. The area around St. Patrick's Cathedral is the ideal place to see the parade. The Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet Festival runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

What You Should Know About the Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet Festival

Unlike most New York City Parades, the Easter Parade is a far less organized event. From 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. the area along Fifth Avenue from 49th to 57th Streets is closed to vehicular traffic, and folks wander the street admiring various Easter Bonnets and Easter outfits. Visitors in town during Easter will enjoy stopping by the area for a bit during the festivities, but seeing the various Easter bonnets and costumed pets is probably only worth a short visit.

The Parade will take place on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 starting at 11 a.m. on 5th Avenue around 44th Street.

Toward the north end of the St. Patrick's Day Parade route are the best viewing spots if you want to avoid the crowds that throng the sidewalks below 59th Street.

The Parade ends at 79th Street, around 2 or 3 p.m. Keep in mind that the grandstands are located between 62nd and 64th Streets, so that area is accessible only with a ticket, but if you score a spot close to the grandstands, you might be able to see the marchers performing for the judges. The crowd is densest at St. Patrick's Cathedral and in the area immediately around there and tends to lessen as you move north along the parade route.

On Thursday, November 27, 2014 at 9 a.m. the 86th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will begin.

The parade travels down Central Park West from 77th Street to Columbus Circle along Central Park South to 6th Avenue, down 6th Avenue to 34th Street and along 34th Street to Macy's Herald Square (34th Street).

Public Viewing Areas:
•Central Park West: West side of street from 70th Street to Columbus Circle & east side of street from 70th to 65th
•Columbus Circle: West side of street
•6th Avenue: between 58th & 34th Streets
•34th Street: south side of street between Broadway & 7th Avenue

Be aware: there is no public or press access in the telecast area on 6th Avenue between 34th and 38th Streets and on 34th Street between Broadway and 7th Avenue. The south side of 34th Street between Broadway and 7th Avenue will has limited public viewing.

ALSO: GRANDSTAND SEATS are NOT available to the general public. These are reserved for VIPS, Special Guests of Macy's, and purchasers of seats via Charity Organizations. The 2014 Veterans Day Parade will take place on November 11, 2014

The Veterans Day Parade has been organized in New York since 1929. Over 25,000 people participate in the parade each year, making it the largest in the nation. The Veterans Day commemoration begins with a wreath laying ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Eternal Flame in Madison Square Park with the parade beginning at 11:15 a.m.

The event begins at 11:15 a.m., departing from 26th St. up Fifth Ave. and finishing at 52nd St. The review stand will be erected outside the New York Public Library’s main branch.
