NYC Pride parade is this Sunday 6/27

NYC Pride parade is this Sunday 6/27

NYC Pride parade is this Sunday 6/27.  The parade starts at 12PM from 5th Ave and 36th St. and goes straight down 5th Ave, a right on 8th St. and a left on Christopher St.  finishing at Stonewall.

Heritage of Pride hosts New York City’s Pride events in commemoration of the Stonewall Riots of 1969, the beginning of the modern Gay Rights movement.

Early in the morning of June 28, the Stonewall Inn was raided by police, a then common occurrence at the Greenwich Village bar that had become a staple of New York City's underground gay community. But this time its members, tired of the ongoing raids, fought back, striking what would become known as The Stonewall Riots.

Fleet Week is here! Hello Sailor!!

Fleet Week is here! Hello Sailor!!

This is a fun time in NYC as the streets become flooded with Sailors, Marines & Coast Guardsman. Fleet Week runs from May 21st – May 27th and there are several events planned that you should familiarize yourself with at this link http://www.fleetweeknewyork.com/fleetweeknewyork/

One product that you can directly tie into Fleet Week that we sell is the Intrepid Museum.  Many of the ships that the sailors are staying in are docked near there and they will have special events going on all week. http://www.intrepidmuseum.org/FleetWeek2014.aspx
